SPACE&LIFE - A COMPLETE PROGRAM OF
WELL-BEING
SPACE&LIFE is based on the results of the author's research. Man's health and
well-being depend on the quality of the three basic inputs: food, breath and
mental input. Psychosomatic diseases and stress enter into an organism from
outside through this inputs. By having healthy inputs the organism will be
healthy. With this understanding man has all the tools to keep him healthy and
vital.
By eating too much we poison our body, all the whole energy get used for
digestion. By eating only when hungry, energy remains free for creativity and
improvement of our life. The food should be used only as nutrition, not as a
compensation. By low breathing the body don't receive oxygen enough, the muscles
used by breathing get stiff; that causes stiffness of the spine and constant
tiredness.
In SPACE&LIFE program we learn how to listen our body and eat only when hungry,
we practice full breathing with the lower belly, middle and upper chest, we
practice being aware of the way we think and how thoughts determinate our life
(see more in the article DIRECT SCIENTIFIC EXPERIENCE).
The result of this program increases our ability to use different techniques of
relaxation and regeneration by ourselves, without external help. Practising them
regularly we create the harmony with the environment, an equilibrium between
matter and space in our organism. According to Chinese traditional medicine this
equilibrium is necessary for being healthy. Additional density of the cosmic
space in the living organism corresponds in Chinese medicine to the life energy
QI, that in India is called Prana, Wilhelm Reich called it Orgon Energy (17).
The entrance into the space is in the lower belly. Lower belly is the
gravitational centre of the body, the density of space in it is higher than in
any other part of body. Breathing with lower belly and watching its movement
help to step out of the mind and to reconnect with space. Knowing space we enter
into a deep harmony with universe, life, other human beings.
Practising daily SPACE&LIFE program gives back the man its natural intelligence,
spaciousness and awareness that he is the master of his life.
ANTI-STRESS BREATHING
Laughing is one of the healthiest activities known to man; it relaxes both the
body and the mind. We do not know exactly why laughter is so healthy - the
important thing is that it works. The most visible alteration at the body level
is movement of the diaphragm. During laughter, the diaphragm moves rapidly up
and down (a similar movement of the diaphragm happens during orgasm).
In 1990 the idea of the author was to discover a breathing technique that is
slightly different than normal breathing and yet moves the diaphragm in the same
way as laughter does. After several hundred hours of experimentation was
discovered that an exhalation made in two phases (double out-breath), moves the
diaphragm in much the same way as laughter. The speed and depth of inhalation
are normal, whereas during the out-breath, air is pushed out with the help of
the abdominal muscles in two phases until the lungs are empty. Some people
prefer to exhale in three or more phases.
Breathing with double exhalations cleans the lungs of old air, strengthens the
abdominal muscles, and on a psychological level has the same effect as laughter.
While practising this double out-breath, people often start laughing for no
particular reason. Double exhalation has, like laughing, no side effects; it is
a natural technique against stress, panic attacks and depression, as well as
helping to release emotions that have accumulated in the belly and chest. While
practising this technique, it is important to maintain normal breathing speed.
By breathing too quickly hyperventilation occur.
While practising Anti-stress Breathing it is important to focus ones awareness
on breathing and to avoid thinking about what's for dinner or tomorrows tasks.
The technique of the double out-breath should be practised gently, without
forcing, so it becomes enjoyable.
In 1995 the author was informed that this way of breathing is an ancient Sufi
technique used to build up the vitality and discover spaciousness. In 1997 he
started practising Anti-stress Breathing in a warm water pool. By combining it
with stretching and different movements in the water (dolphin, snake and others)
it's effects are multiplied and a state of deep relaxation can be attained
within a few minutes (18).
